Thirty nine years ago, Sylvia Wiltlock made history in Rotary when she became the first woman Club President of Rotary Club of Duarte in California, when "officially" women were not admitted as members. Her position was revoked and the BoD filed a gender discrimination lawsuit. On May 4th, 1987 the Supreme Court favored the ruling, so women were officially admitted.
In 1989, the Council on Legislation voted to formally remove the "male-only" provision... the rest is History 👏💪.
