Packing Rice Bags
What a special day to serve our community on 9.11, a Remembrance and Service Day. It was an honor and pleasure to "Serve Above Self" the Clear Lake Food Pantry (CLFP) by volunteering on one of their pick up days and presenting a donation check.
In 2020, one of the most difficult years, the Clear Lake Food Pantry needed extra help and Space Center Rotary Club was ready to jump in, not only financially but also with extra hands. For five consecutive years, Space Center Rotary Club and Clear Lake Food Pantry have been Community Partners and we expect many more years to come. Our Club is committed to continue supporting these noble programs within our community. Clear Lake Food Pantry has been serving the Clear Lake area for about 26 years. Most of the food they gather and pack is from the Houston Food Bank and from local major groceries such as Krogers and H.E.B.
After a safety meeting, Mrs. Betty, volunteer of the Food Pantry lead us to a very special prayer for the 9-11 and for individual requests. Immediately after, Teri Crawford and Nurit Hinthorn on behalf of our Club, presented a check of $750.00 to Dianne Night, Production Manager (volunteer). This check will help with special Thanksgiving food bags.
Thanks to John Branch, Marilyn and Wayne Musial, Nurit Hinthorn, Sheila Self, Carol Saxe, Teri Crawford, and MH for helping with this service project.
